Welcome to Access Services
Access Services at CSU facilitate access to the university library collection to support the teaching, learning and research. It administers the use of library reserved materials, and interlibrary loans.
The library has many ways to locate books, journals, recordings, databases, web sites, items on reserve, and more.
Reserves
Using our course reserve systems, faculty can place on reserve: books, periodical articles, class notes, electronic resources, and more for the use of students enrolled in their classes. Items, depending on their format, may be available in hard copy at the Circulation Desk, or online through the Library's Web page. Online material is accessed through the Library's Docutek electronic reserve system or the professor’s own Blackboard Web pages. Instructors may provide hardcopy materials to Reserves Desk.
Electronic Reserves
Find what materials are on reserve for a course. Faculty can request an account and create reserves via the Docutek ERes electronic reserves system
Print Reserves
Discover media and print items on reserve by course, department, and instructor via the library catalog. After following this link, click “Course Reserves” in the center of the page.
Interlibrary Loan
Interlibrary Loan provides access to material not available at the Library. Current CSU faculty, students, and staff are eligible for the service. Patrons should first check the Library Catalog, electronic collections, and Illinois consortium I-Share catalog before submitting their requests. Every effort will be made to secure the item requested as soon as possible.
Submit Interlibrary Loan RequestHours of Operation
We are staffed to assist you during those hours in which the library is open. Interlibrary Loan requests after 5:00 PM are recorded at the Reference Desk and processed the following day.
